This contract opportunity offers you the chance to use your expertise to empower students and enhance their educational experiences.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Proven experience working with students who are blind or have low vision, preferably in a school setting Ability to adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate varying levels of vision Strong knowledge of the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) and experience developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Strong organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, ensuring academic needs are met Conduct assessments to determine students' functional vision and recommend accommodations or adaptive technology as needed Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies tailored to each student's goals and strengths Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to support inclusion and accessibility Provide training and support to staff and families regarding the needs of visually impaired students Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive school environment, making a significant impact within a collaborative team.
