Job Description

Autism Specialist Overview:
Join our team at Meaningful Futures, an autism waiver provider dedicated to offering essential services to families with children on the autism spectrum. As a direct care worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care for individuals with autism. We are currently seeking passionate individuals who are adept at behavior management, implementing care plans, and fostering a positive environment for clients to thrive both at home and in the community. This position is located in Potomac, Maryland. This is for a male teenager with autism spectrum disorder. He is mostly non-speaking and requires assistance with toileting. The direct care worker MUST be committed to working on Wednesdays from 1:00p-6:00p; other weekday shifts are available. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to the Wednesday shift. Weekends are on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Conduct data collection and maintain accurate medical documentation and records.
  • Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to support individuals with autism in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Work closely with individuals on the autism spectrum to enhance their skills and independence.
  • Provide behavioral interventions and support for individuals facing challenges related to autism.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical records.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working with children or individuals with autism is required
  • Familiarity with behavior management strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of working with people on the autism spectrum.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
