Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role supporting the academic and personal growth of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher, with an immediate start and a long-term contract through June 14, 2027. You'll be integral to a collaborative team, working full-time in a vibrant elementary setting with 4th-grade learners in both Resource and Co-Teaching environments. This is a fantastic opportunity for educators seeking stability and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of students with diverse needs. Your primary responsibility will be to serve a manageable caseload of 15 elementary students, providing specialized instruction, differentiating lessons, and ensuring each learner has the support they need to achieve their potential. The position is Monday through Friday, 5 days per week, offering you a consistent schedule and the chance to build meaningful connections with students, families, and colleagues. What we're looking for:
  • Valid Maryland Special Education teaching license
  • Experience with elementary-aged students, ideally in a Resource or Co-Teaching setting
  • Demonstrated ability to implement IEPs and adapt curriculum to meet individual needs
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with co-teachers, support staff, and families
  • Passion, patience, and creativity in fostering inclusive, engaging classroom environments Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering high-quality instruction for a small group of 4th-grade students
  • Collaborating with general education teachers in a co-teaching model
  • Developing and modifying IEPs in partnership with a multidisciplinary team
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining detailed records
