Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a full-time Special Education Resource Teacher serving students in grades 3-5. The position involves providing specialized instruction in reading, writing, and math to a classroom of 20 students, as well as case managing 15 students, including 5 speech-only cases. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, supporting a structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted instruction in reading, writing, and math for grades 3-5 students with special education needs Manage and oversee Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for 15 students, including coordinating services for 5 students requiring speech therapy only Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications Monitor student progress and adjust plans to improve academic outcomes Maintain accurate records and communication with families and school professionals
Qualifications/Experience:
Certification as a Special Education Teacher Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 3-5) Ability to manage caseloads and coordinate speech therapy services Strong skills in reading, writing, and math instruction tailored to special education Excellent communication and organizational skills
