9569636-04605 Job Description Embrace an exciting contract role supporting students in grades 5-8 as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time opportunity allows for flexible work arrangements, with the option to manage cases remotely and visit onsite periodically near Ellsworth, ME. As the case manager, you will be integral to fostering growth and success for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
Valid 282 Special Education Teacher Certification required Demonstrated experience in case management and special education services Strong understanding of IEP (Individualized Education Program) and ISP (Individualized Service Plan) processes Ability to perform academic evaluations and classroom observations Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as case manager for 13 IEPs and 6 ISPs for students in grades 5-8 Conduct academic assessments to support eligibility and progress monitoring Complete evaluations, classroom observations, and ensure delivery of specially designed instruction (SDI) as needed Collaborate with educational teams, families, and related service providers to develop and implement effective individualized plans Monitor student performance and maintain accurate case documentation in a timely manner Participate in IEP/ISP meetings, offering insights and recommendations to support student growth Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations This contract position is designed for those looking to make a significant impact, while enjoying the flexibility of remote case management and occasional on-site visits.
