Job Description

Inspire and support students by bringing your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to a vibrant educational environment. This contract opportunity is tailored for those dedicated to fostering growth and success in students with hearing needs throughout the full school year. Use your proficiency in American Sign Language, paired with your instructional skills, to create an inclusive and motivating classroom culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). Previous classroom experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred. Strong understanding of differentiated instructional techniques and individualized education programs (IEPs). Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet each students individualized needs. Provide direct instruction in academic content and life skills using ASL. Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to ensure a fully accessible and supportive learning environment. Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with IEP goals and state regulations. Advocate for accessible resources and appropriate accommodations for your students.
