Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant is seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to join a welcoming school district in Lewiston, Maine for the 2026-2027 school year. These full-time, onsite positions offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with diverse learning needs in specialized classroom settings. Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student's IEP Implement, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior management techniques Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and general education staff Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and educational goals Foster students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional skill development

Required Qualifications:

Active Maine 282 Special Education Teaching License (required) Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills Ability to support students with a wide range of learning and behavioral needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a resource style classroom or providing 1:1 case management services for special education.
