Job Description

The Margaret Murphy Centers for Children (MMCC) is a special-purpose private school serving children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and emotional disorders. This is an intensive and collaborative program that operates year-round. MMCC students receive individualized educational and behavioral services provided by a team of professionals and providers. Following the model of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), certified Special Education teachers and Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBAs) supervise School Based Behavioral Health Professionals (SB-BHPs)/Ed Tech IIIs to work one-on-one with students to meet educational and behavioral goals with efficiency, continuity, and ultimately…SUCCESS. The Margaret Murphy Center's Randolph Day Treatment program (Pre K-8) is looking for a professional who is dedicated, compassionate, creative, and disciplined to join our team. Such professionals will find a position that offers experience with best practices, a chance to make a difference, and an opportunity to have fun. MMCC will provide the initial and ongoing training necessary to become an effective Special Education Teacher, allowing for a wealth of experiences vital to professional development. The ideal candidate for the Special Education Teacher position at MMCC will have: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree 282 or 286 DOE certification or documentation from the DOE that candidate is conditionally certified, with the expectation that candidate is enrolled in schooling to complete full certification requirements. Experience working with children with developmental and/or emotional disabilities Excellent teaching skills, both 1:1 and small group Excellent behavior management skills Confidence with Safety Care strategies Excellent attendance and punctuality Strong time management skills that result in the ability to meet deadlines and support students directly as necessary The anticipated hiring range for this position is $60,070.40-$75,088.00 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related factors. Eligible employees are also offered a comprehensive benefits package. MMCC offers up to 8 weeks of paid vacation time and paid holidays each year for our Special Education Teachers!
