Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a supportive school district near Wales, Maine . These full-time opportunities are ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and creating an inclusive, student-centered classroom environment.

Classroom Assignments:
K-1 Self-Contained Special Education Classroom - 1 opening Grades 2-4 Functional Life Skills (FLS) Classroom - 1 opening
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in an elementary school setting. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs. Support students' academic, behavioral, communication, and functional skill development. Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families. Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with special education requirements .
Required Qualifications:
Active Maine 282 Special Education Teacher License. Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting. Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to develop and implement effective individualized instruction and behavior supports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a self-contained special education classroom. Experience supporting students with significant learning needs and functional skill development. Familiarity with Functional Life Skills (FLS) programming. Passion for creating meaningful learning experiences and supporting student growth.
