Float Teacher Early Learning Center

We are seeking someone nurturing and flexible to support teachers primarily in our toddler (12 months-2.5 years) and nursery (2 to 3.5 years) classrooms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Communicating with classroom teachers to schedule the day so that it maximizes the time and attention each child receives Getting to know the needs of each child so we can provide the best care for every individual Learning about play-based teaching practices, child-centered learning practices, and trauma-informed teaching Helping to take children outdoors every day either in the play yard or on a walking field trip to the Wiggly Bridge, Fisherman's Walk, or York Harbor Beach Filling in for teachers who are absent or on vacation to help maintain consistency and continuity of care Supporting lessons and activities within the classroom Friendly, professional communication with parents at pick up time Helping to keep a tidy, sanitary learning environment Per the State of Maine we require that all candidates have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent credential. An Associates or higher is preferred.
