POSITION SUMMARY
Hourly EL-certified/endorsed teacher to support EL and General Education teachers through a push-in/co-teaching model to enhance instructional practices and resources for classroom teachers. This grant-funded position does not provide benefits and may not be renewed after the 2026-2027 school year.

EXPERIENCE
Possess valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate (for elementary positions) or secondary teaching certificate (for secondary positions) with NS endorsement Experience in working with English Learners and culturally/linguistically diverse students Experience in the implementation of a push-in model. Familiarity with WIDA Scores and can-do statements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach district-approved curriculum. Provide Push-in EL support to students with a WIDA composite level of 3.9 and below Meet and communicate regularly with EL teacher and school leaders to discuss student progress Develop lessons and instructional material to provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt to the curriculum needs of each pupil. Evaluate academic and social growth of students, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports Regular and reliable attendance.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Ability to speak at least one language other than English, preferred Ability to work effectively with EL parents from varying socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to coordinate and team with building staff. Awareness of effective strategies in dealing with culture shock and sensitivity to cultural differences and similarities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read, write and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, students and Administrators. Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Add, subtract, and multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS and

Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds. Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
