Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference for students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Full-time roles are available for Early Learning Elementary, Middle School, and High School levels, working within a vibrant academic community near Ann Arbor, MI. Inspire growth and support meaningful educational outcomes while gaining valuable experience across several grade levels.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Michigan Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement (must be included with your application) Proven ability to adapt instruction and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Experience teaching at either elementary, middle, or high school level preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Passion for fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction to meet the unique learning needs of a diverse student population Develop, implement, and review IEPs, providing both academic and behavioral support Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and administration to support student success Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed Communicate regularly with parents or guardians, fostering strong partnerships Support transitions and advocacy, equipping students with skills for success in school and beyond This is a dynamic contract opportunity running from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
