Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing resource-based special education support across elementary or middle school settings. Two contract positions are available and can be tailored to your preferred age groupwhether you thrive working with younger learners or middle school students, your expertise will help nurture academic and personal growth. Youll collaborate closely with dedicated staff in a resource classroom at either East Leroy Elementary or Athens High School, delivering individualized education to a focused caseload of 10 elementary students or 11 middle schoolers. The contract runs through June 2027, allowing you to build lasting relationships while developing your teaching practice in a supportive environment.
Required Qualifications:
Active Special Education Certification in Michigan (please include proof with your application) Experience or coursework in special education practices and IEP implementation Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt instruction and provide differentiated support Passion for fostering inclusive, engaging classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, resource-based instruction to students according to IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
