Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a fulfilling journey supporting elementary or middle school students in a resource setting. As a Special Education professional dedicated to nurturing individual growth, you'll impact young learners by empowering them to succeed both academically and socially. This is a contract opportunity, with positions available at both the elementary and middle school levels. Preference for age group placement is welcomed—let us know which environment inspires you most!
Key Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License (active status required; please submit proof with your application) Experience working with elementary or middle school-aged students in a resource/support setting Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and support staff Positive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to individualized student progress
Primary Responsibilities:
Instruct small resource groups (caseload: 10 elementary or 11 middle school students) using evidence-based strategies Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance and meaningful outcomes for each student Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and growth Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with team members to maximize student success Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives as needed

Elementary:
7:55 a.m.-3:10 p.m. |
Middle:
