Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the resource classroom setting. This position is ideal for those eager to make an impact within elementary or middle school age groups, with two openings available. Applicants can indicate their preference for either elementary or middle school placement, both located near Bellevue, MI. This assignment will run from as soon as possible through June 10th, 2027 (tentatively), offering a meaningful opportunity to grow and support students along their educational journeys. Your workweek will total 35 hours, with set hours between two campuses: East Leroy Elementary (7:55 a.m. 3:10 p.m.) and Athens High School (7:35 a.m. 2:40 p.m.). Caseloads are manageable, with approximately 10 students at the elementary level and 11 at the middle school level in a resource classroom environment.

Desired Qualifications:

Active Michigan Special Education Teaching License (proof required with submission) Experience with elementary and/or middle school students preferred Knowledge of IEP process, differentiation, and resource classroom best practices Compassionate, flexible, and collaborative approach to teaching Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized and small group instruction in a resource setting for students on IEPs Develop, implement, and monitor specialized instructional plans and accommodations Collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers Maintain accurate records and data to support student progress Create a welcoming, inclusive environment promoting student success This contract position offers a competitive hourly rate of $80.
