Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving K-5th grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic elementary school environment near Dearborn Heights, MI. Two separate roles are available—one in a self-contained classroom and another in a resource classroom, both offering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in special education or a closely related field Valid Michigan elementary special education teaching license Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in special education settings Strong communication and organization skills Commitment to individualized and inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver personalized instruction for a manageable caseload of K-5th grade students Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with faculty and families Foster a positive, structured classroom tailored to the needs of each student Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to support a range of learning abilities and disabilities Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and support staff Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
