Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher - Telehealth Job Type Contract A special education teaching position is available that utilizes telehealth technology to support students' unique learning needs. This role is designed for educators experienced in delivering special education services remotely or in a blended environment, ensuring students receive personalized instruction and support.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Deliver specialized instruction and support using telehealth platforms, maintaining engagement and progress. Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other educators to coordinate comprehensive care and educational strategies. Monitor and document student progress, adapting instructional methods as necessary. Provide consultative support to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals regarding inclusion and accommodations. Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience delivering special education instruction via telehealth or online platforms preferred. Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation. Ability to manage a caseload remotely, maintaining effective communication. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Location:
Position is based in Freeland, Michigan, operating under a contract arrangement.
