QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Certification Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate Preferred A Math or Science (EX, DX, or DI) Endorsement preferred, but not required Experience in a related field of studies with relevant specialization and experience Excellent communication skills Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with a focus on student learning Ability to establish productive relationships with students, parents and staff that allows for productive collaboration Ability to appropriately integrate technology within instruction Ability to effectively plan and deliver quality instruction in-person Ability to use of Atlas and Google Classroom consistent with the District curriculum and instructional expectations Compentency in student management and supervision Understanding the academic and social emotional needs of young children Interest / ability to lead extra-curricular activities Strong interpersonal skills. Effective practices for working with students of all ability levels, able to differentiate instruction Willingness to try and share new ideas, techniques, and strategies Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement Effective use of balanced assessment (formative and summative) Understanding of classroom strategies and systems of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Provide an educational program that meets the educational needs of each student in the teacher's area of responsibility Provide instruction consistent with District and school expectations and which meets the educational needs of all students assigned to the teacher Communicate with students, parents, administrators and other staff members in a manner which is consistent with District and school expectations Maintain student records, organize resources and foster a learning environment which are consistent with District and school expectations, while setting high expectations for student learning. Plan, prepare, and implement instruction and assessment to measure student growth Function as a collaborative and contributing team member within the CHS staff, especially the English Department Participate in professional development opportunities and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning. Communicate student progress and development with parents and staff in a timely fashion Demonstrate creative and innovative lesson plans that contribute to a highly engaged learning community that helps to foster a students ability to implement and use the 6 C's of education and 21st century competencies Create a caring and nurturing learning environment that allows for emotional and social growth for all learners Maintains a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning Implements useful progress monitoring assessment measures Effectively uses multiple forms of assessment and progress data to plan

• guide instruction and inform the learner Establishes a cooperative relationship with all students Fosters a sense of appreciation and enthusiasm for the content area Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development Takes direction from the building and District administration Contributes and participates in efforts related to school and district goals Maintains regular and consistent attendance Other duties as assigned by the administration
