Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving students at the elementary, middle, or high school levels. Contribute to an inclusive learning environment and help support the growth and achievement of every learner for the upcoming school year, running from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027. This full-time role is based near Livonia, MI, and offers the chance to focus your expertise with a dedicated caseload tailored to your preferred grade level: one opening each for early learning elementary, middle school, and high school. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Michigan teaching certification required, with Special Education endorsement Experience working in special education settings or with students who have unique learning needs Ability to design and implement targeted Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff and families Dedication to ongoing professional development and student advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and intervention in accordance with students' IEPs Monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed for best outcomes Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that celebrates individual strengths
