Step into a meaningful role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position for the upcoming academic year. This opportunity focuses on serving students in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classrooms in a welcoming, onsite environment. Qualifications:

Active Michigan Special Education Teacher License (required). Please verify your license at the official state portal and provide a screenshot as requested. Experience working with high school students in special education settings, particularly with ASD populations, is preferred. Strong ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet diverse learning needs. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work closely with families, support staff, and fellow teachers. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instructional support to high school students in ASD classrooms, focusing on academic, social, and behavioral growth. Assess students' academic and functional abilities, creating tailored lesson plans and interventions. Monitor and document progress, maintaining detailed records and reporting regularly to relevant stakeholders. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for each student. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and ongoing training opportunities.
