Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a significant impact supporting students as a Special Education Resource Teacher with a contract opportunity in Michigan. Work with a supportive team to provide individualized instruction in resource classrooms at the elementary or middle school level. Choose your preference—elementary or middle school—and help students thrive in their academic and social goals. The assignment spans both East Leroy Elementary and Athens High School, with a caseload of approximately 10 elementary students or 11 middle school students. You'll enjoy a structured, school-day schedule and the chance to build meaningful relationships over the duration of this multi-year contract.

Key Qualifications:

Valid and active Michigan Special Education teaching license (MI SPED) is required; please provide documentation with your application. Experience or strong interest in working with elementary or middle school students in a special education resource setting. Strong classroom management and collaboration skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and develop individualized learning plans. Excellent communication abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored instructional support to students in a resource room setting. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff. Regularly track student progress and adjust strategies to ensure achievement of educational goals. Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing staff development. This contract position offers a competitive pay of $80.00 per hour, consistent weekly hours (35 per week), and the satisfaction of long-term student growth.
