Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an environment where your passion for supporting young learners with special needs can thrive. Two dedicated Special Education Teachers are needed for a rewarding contract assignment, working with students in kindergarten to second grade for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers you the opportunity to make a significant difference in a small-group setting, with a manageable caseload of up to 8 students. The assignment will run from August 11, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification by start date) Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field Experience working with early elementary-aged children preferred Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to create individualized lesson plans and adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support to K-2 students in alignment with IEP goals Develop and monitor personalized education plans in coordination with staff and families Track and report student progress through regular assessments and documentation Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment where all students can succeed Participate in parent meetings, professional development, and IEP team meetings as required This is your chance to work in a supportive school community and enjoy the fulfillment of guiding students during formative years.
