Key Qualifications:

Active certification in Cognitive Impairment (CI) required Special Education teaching experience, especially with cognitive impairment or Autism Spectrum Disorder populations, highly desired Strong classroom management skills and the ability to develop individualized strategies Experience supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of students Able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff Empathetic, patient, and passionate about inclusive education

Role Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction for an elementary-aged student (8 or 9 years old) with cognitive and behavioral needs Lead, plan, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) centered around student strengths Apply proactive behavioral and mental health support in collaboration with a dedicated team Develop engaging, adaptable lesson plans that foster social, emotional, and academic growth Communicate progress regularly with team members and families Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and collaborative planning sessions This role offers a schedule of 7:30 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Friday, allowing for work-life balance while ensuring consistent support for your student.
