A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

HS Graduate/GED Our Client is seeking a Special Education Teachers in the St Clair Shores area to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for children and their parents.AVAIALBLE HOURS & HOURLY RATE
Compensation is dependent on Contractor's experience, education, availability, and skills.- Monday - Friday (during school hours)
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Help children develop social awareness appropriate for their age and developmental level.
- Provide specialized instruction, support, and advocacy to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic and personal growth
- Gear the program to the needs of individual children with concern for their developmental level, interests, special needs, special talents and individual pace of learning.
- Must be willing to "fill in" where needed.
- Work cooperatively with instructional, support staff and administrative staff.
- Participate in staff development activities.
- Complete required documentation of relevant activities and submit records and reports in a timely an accurate manner.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Valid MI teaching certification or licensure for Special Education.
- One who holds an ELA endorsement and one that holds an math endoresement
- Classroom experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Follow appropriate chain of command for all conflict situations.
