Qualifications:

1. A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education birth - kindergarten (ZN) Birth-K, or Lower Elementary Education

(ZO) endorsement; or 2. A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education; or 3. An associates degree in Early Childhood Education or valid Preschool CDA 4. Be on track for a CDA or associates in Early Childhood with 6 months of experience in a classroom and 6 semester hours, 9 CEUs, or a combination to equal 90 clock hours of coursework in: Child Care Administration, Early Childhood Education Child Development, A Child-Related Field. 5. Be 19 years or older with a

GED or High School Diploma Job Classification:

Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:00pm The Lead Teacher is responsible for the planning, supervision, and implementation of a developmentally appropriate early childhood program in order to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of the children in the 3 year old classroom.

Job Responsibilities:

• Know and follow all State of Michigan licensing guidelines.
• Lead, implement, and utilize HighScope /hands on curriculum on a daily basis.
• Plan individual and group activities to stimulate growth in literacy, language, mathematics, science, social, and motor skills. Encourage children to express themselves creatively in art, music, movement, and dramatic play.
• Develop and use instructional materials suitable for a learning environment for children with a wide range of cognitive, physical, and emotional maturity.
• Supporting the classroom through a posted daily routine and adjusting daily routines to accommodate their student's needs
• Provide a welcoming and supportive climate to establish and reinforce acceptable child behavior, attitudes, and social skills.
• Maintain a routine schedule of observations.
• Communicate regularly with parents by means of a newsletter, messages, phone calls, home visits, and individual parent conferences.
• Participate in professional development and training as required by licensing, as needed etc.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Obtain and Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Abide by all policies outlined in the employee handbook.
• Arrive at work on time every day.

• Practice emergency drills with their students.
• Dress appropriately for teaching young children (Modest, neat, clean.

Pay:

From $15.00 per hour Application Question(s): Have you worked with 3-4 year olds in a preschool setting before? Have you work with Highscope Curriculum or a hands-on curriculum before?
