Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact with your expertise as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year, supporting students in a Setting 3 classroom. This full-time opportunity involves working with approximately 6-10 students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role offers the chance to utilize your skills in a focused environment, within one building, allowing you to make meaningful connections with students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching license with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4) - required Experience working with students with DCD and/or ASD, ideally within a Setting 3 classroom Background in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom climate
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students with DCD and ASD Develop, adapt, and implement individualized curriculum and learning strategies Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and families Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and compliance with requirements Participate in IEP meetings and team planning sessions Support a positive classroom environment emphasizing student growth and achievement This contract begins August 31, 2026, and concludes June 4, 2027.
