Job Description

Step into a dynamic education environment supporting students at both the high school and elementary levels. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to split your day between two impactful roles: mornings as a high school Special Education Teacher, and afternoons as a Behavior Intervention Specialist supporting elementary educators. Work onsite and collaborate closely with school staff to develop effective interventions that foster student growth.

Desired Qualifications:

Current Minnesota teaching license required (Tier 3 or Tier 4 for Special Education). Experience in special education and/or as a behavior specialist preferred. Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior plans. Strong collaboration skills to coach and consult with teachers. Up-to-date resume reflecting relevant experience and credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach high school students in a 0.5 FTE special education capacity each morning. Serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist in the afternoons, supporting elementary teams with behavior strategies (no direct caseload). Consult with teachers to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior intervention plans. Work between two school "crews" (high school and elementary), offering expertise and practical support. Maintain regular communication with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success. Uphold compliance with district and state requirements for special education services. This contract begins in late August and wraps up in June, with a schedule that allows for a dedicated focus Monday through Friday, approximately 37.5 hours per week.
