Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by stepping into a dynamic contract role as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a school-based position located in Burnsville, MN, working across multiple sites and grade levels with both FMLA coverage and ongoing teaching opportunities. Your expertise will support a diverse population of students, including those with behavioral needs, and youll play an essential role in school communities committed to inclusion and student growth.
What were looking for:
Holds a current Minnesota Teaching Credential with one or more of the following: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Special Education, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist License Proven knowledge of behavior intervention plans, classroom structures, and student routines Experience leading instruction for cross-categorical programs, particularly those serving students with Emotional Behavior Disorders Excellent attendance and strong time-management skills Ability to effectively collaborate with general education colleagues and paraprofessionals Skilled in problem-solving, behavior management strategies, and individualized instruction Confident working with K-2, middle school, early childhood, and center-based caseloads Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced, supportive educational environment Key responsibilities: Plan and implement specialized instruction adapted to student IEPs Develop, apply, and track the effectiveness of individualized behavior plans Build positive classroom communities and encourage student engagement Consult and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff Maintain detailed student records and data Communicate regularly and effectively with families and staff Support smooth transitions for students returning from FMLA coverage If youre ready to utilize your special education expertise to enrich the school community and guide students toward success, we welcome your application.
