As a Special Education Teacher, you'll bring your expertise to adaptive physical education, planning and leading engaging gym activities for students guided by their individualized education plans (IEPs).

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

Licensed Special Education Teacher with appropriate state certification Experience working with students with physical, cognitive, or behavioral disabilities Ability to interpret and implement IEPs effectively in gym and classroom environments Skilled in managing due process documentation Collaborative mindset, eager to work with adaptive teams and school staff Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver daily adaptive gym lessons tailored to students IEP objectives Teach two consecutive adaptive physical education classes each day at the high school Work onsite at the elementary school twice per week, delivering supportive classroom instruction Maintain accurate due process records and ensure compliance with special education procedures Partner with the districts DAPE team and participate in multidisciplinary meetings Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive This role offers the chance to enrich the lives of students across two campuses while gaining new perspectives with a diverse, supportive educational team.
