The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing tailored instructional strategies, and collaborating with parents and other educators to support student success. A background in early childhood education or experience working with children with autism is highly desirable. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student. Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure academic growth. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to provide comprehensive support for students. Provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering their social and emotional development. Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress towards IEP goals. Engage in continuous professional development to stay current on best practices in special education. Experience A degree in Special Education or a related field is required; certification in special education is preferred. Experience working with preschool-aged children or in a private school setting is a plus. Familiarity with deaf education and library services can enhance the learning experience for students. Proven ability to work effectively with children on the autism spectrum, utilizing appropriate strategies and interventions. Knowledge of Montessori methods or early childhood education principles is advantageous. Strong proofreading skills are essential for developing clear educational materials and documentation.
