Job Description

Step into a vital role supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities in an elementary school environment. This onsite opportunity is perfect for a Special Education Teacher who excels in creating structured, nurturing, and engaging classrooms that foster growth and confidence in every learner. Youll collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to deliver individualized instruction, skill-building activities, and positive behavior interventions. With a caseload of around nine students, youll have the opportunity for meaningful, personal connections and the ability to impact your students educational journeys directly.
Qualifications:
Active Minnesota Teaching Certification required (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only) Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with DCD students Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs and differentiated lesson plans Strong understanding of behavioral strategies and evidence-based instructional approaches Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students Must submit current certification and a detailed resume for consideration
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the individualized needs of students Manage a caseload of approximately nine students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities Develop and maintain accurate, comprehensive IEPs; monitor progress and report regularly Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate that supports student self-advocacy and growth
Additional Details:
Full-time contract from late August 2026 through early June 2027 Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch Make a daily difference for students in the Special Education classroom.
