Job Description
Education:
Bachelor's degree in the following field's of study: education, education administration, education counseling, or appropriate related field required. Master's degree in the following field's of study: educational leadership, career education and workforce development, counseling is preferred.Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience in education, with an emphasis on career readiness and workforce development required. Core knowledge of career education, Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs), and Missouri Connections. Experience in planning, coordinating, and facilitating student-centered events, with the ability to manage logistics and engage stakeholders. Experience with group facilitation, presentation and adult learning Licenses and Certifications Valid teaching and/or administrators certificate. What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.
