Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, math skills, physical development, and social-emotional learning for 2-year-olds. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management. Engage children in hands-on activities that support childhood development milestones and foster curiosity. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental achievements through updates and conferences. Maintain detailed documentation of each child's growth, behavior, and learning outcomes in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently; administer first aid and CPR as needed to ensure child welfare. Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that incorporate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies aligned with early childhood standards. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is required. Knowledge of child development stages, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in childhood education is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, special education needs, and early intervention strategies. Experience teaching physical education or implementing standardized testing for young children is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners using methods such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches.
