A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our team. As a Teacher, you will be responsible for being the primary teacher and captivate a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children. You will play an important role in their development by implementing fun activities and providing educational support. We are looking for both full and part time.
Duties:
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth while in absence of primary teacher
  • Provide individualized attention and support to each child's unique needs
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate and assist with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to ensure a productive learning environment
  • Help assist teachers to Incorporate technology and interactive learning tools into lessons
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and progress
  • Full Time Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children on an individual level
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
