A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Albemarle, NC | Full-Time | Immediate Opening BRX Educational Staffing is partnering with a highly supportive school district in the Albemarle area to hire an EC Separate Setting Extended Content Teacher for an immediate need. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school known for outstanding leadership, strong support systems, and a commitment to student success.
Position Highlights:
Adaptive Curriculum licensure required Self-contained Extended Content classroom Current caseload of just 8 students (capped around 10) Classroom supported by 2 experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants School hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Collaborative administrative team and strong district support
