  • Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Middle School Special Education Resource Teacher for a full-time, school-based opportunity in the Durham, North Carolina area (Bahama, NC) for the 2026-2027 school year.
This position offers the opportunity to provide individualized and small-group instruction to middle school students while collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support academic growth and student success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide specialized instruction to middle school students in a resource setting
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs and IEP goals
  • Monitor student progress and use data to adjust instructional strategies
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support students across classroom settings
  • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with families, administrators, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and student records
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual learning needs
  • Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
POSITION DETAILS
Full-time position 2026-2027 school year Middle school setting Special Education Resource Teacher assignment School-based, on-site position Specific caseload and assignment details will be discussed during the interview process Position is located in Bahama, NC, just north of Durham
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active North Carolina teaching license appropriate for the position required
  • Previous Special Education or school-based teaching experience preferred
  • Experience working in a resource or inclusion setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively support students with a variety of learning needs SKILLS
