Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference every day by supporting young learners in a vibrant elementary school environment! This contract position is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to impact the lives of K-3 students with diverse needs. You'll find a supportive setting and the opportunity to work closely with a small, growing caseload in a self-contained classroom.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a valid Special Education Teacher license issued by the state of North Carolina Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as implementing behavior management strategies, is preferred Comfortable assisting with toileting and diapering as needed Previous work with K-3 age students in self-contained classrooms is highly valued
What You'll Be Doing:
Delivering individualized instruction and support to a caseload currently ranging from four to five students, with a potential increase up to eight as enrollment grows Utilizing evidence-based practices to foster both academic and behavioral success Creating a welcoming learning atmosphere that encourages growth and positive relationships Collaborating with school staff, related service providers, and families to develop and monitor IEPs Providing hands-on assistance and ensuring students' basic needs are met throughout the school day Adapting curriculum and activities to match students' unique strengths and challenges

Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:00 PM (35 hours per week)
