Qualifications and Skills:

Valid Special Education teaching license in North Carolina, or eligibility to apply for a reciprocal license with an active license from another state Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field Previous experience working in a school environment is preferred; enthusiastic new educators are also welcome to apply Strong organizational skills and commitment to collaborative teaching Genuine passion for working with students with diverse needs Excellent work ethic and communication abilities

Responsibilities:

Collaborate as a co-teacher with general education staff to support student learning and achievement Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs Provide differentiated instruction and specialized interventions in a middle school setting Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Foster an inclusive, positive classroom climate to encourage student growth and engagement Maintain open communication with school staff and families
