Approximately 10 students We are seeking a Special Education Teacher in Charlotte, NC with an Adaptive Curriculum certification to support students with developmental, cognitive, and/or physical disabilities. This position focuses on practical skills that help students develop greater independence and prepare for success in adulthood. Position Responsibilities Provide instruction based on an adaptive and functional curriculum Manage a caseload of approximately 10 students Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs Teach daily living skills , including: Hygiene and self-care Cooking and meal preparation Cleaning and organization Provide functional academics , including: Practical literacy Time management Money management, budgeting, and purchasing Develop social and communication skills , including: Self-advocacy Conversational skills Conflict resolution Support job readiness and transition skills , including: Career exploration Vocational activities Community-based instruction and transition planning Collaborate with families, staff, and related service providers to support student development Qualifications Adaptive Curriculum Special Education Teaching Certificate required Experience working with students with developmental, cognitive, or physical disabilities preferred Experience with life skills, functional academics, or transition programming preferred Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills If you're passionate about helping students build independence and prepare for life beyond the classroom, apply today for this opportunity in Charlotte, NC!
