Learning Support Assistant - Durham Secondary Schools Competitive Daily Rates, Long-Term, ASAP Start Teaching Personnel is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for secondary schools across Durham, with positions available immediately. These are long-term placements within inclusive, well-supported school environments where support staff are valued and the work you do has a visible impact on student outcomes. Working across KS3 and KS4, you'll be supporting students with a range of additional needs — building the kind of consistent, trusted relationships that make a genuine difference over time.
What the role involves:
Supporting students with additional needs across KS3 and KS4 Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions Assisting teachers with classroom management and differentiated delivery Helping students develop independence and confidence in their learning Liaising with the SENCO and wider support team as required What we're looking for: Experience supporting students in a secondary school setting A solid understanding of SEND and how it presents in the classroom Patient, reliable, and confident building relationships with complex learners Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential with relevant experience Enhanced DBS on the Update Service What Teaching Personnel offers: Competitive daily rates Weekly pay via PAYE Dedicated consultant support Free CPD and SEND training Opportunities for permanent employment
