Job Description

Make an impact in K-12 education by supporting students with visual impairments in a full-time contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year. This position offers the chance to work with elementary, middle, and high school students, providing specialized instruction and assistance tailored to their individual needs. Youll be a valuable resource for students, faculty, and families, serving as the go-to expert for delivering quality services in line with district standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) Experience or familiarity with instructional strategies and adaptive technology for students with visual impairments Ability to conduct both formal and informal assessments to monitor student achievement and progress Previous experience supporting a K-12 population preferred Effective communicator (written and verbal) with staff, families, and administration Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing a diverse caseload across multiple grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for students with visual impairments Develop and adapt teaching methods to meet district guidelines and student IEP goals Collaborate with educational teams and participate in ARD meetings, presenting evaluation data and individualized plans Document ongoing progress and maintain compliance records Stay current with best practices in visual impairment education This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, Monday through Friday, with a standard full-time schedule (37.5 hours weekly).
