9449080-28306 Job Description Empower students to succeed by supporting their educational journeys as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time, contract opportunity extends from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, serving a diverse caseload of elementary, middle, and high school students. Located close to the vibrant Fayetteville, NC region, you will work Monday through Friday, with a total of 37.5 hours each week. As a pivotal member of the educational community, your expertise will guide visually impaired students through tailored instruction, assessment, and advocacy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience with students in elementary, middle, and high school Proficiency in adapting curriculum and using specialized instructional materials Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to conduct both formal and informal student assessments Previous experience attending and preparing for ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings Commitment to supporting students development, independence, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments Modify curriculum and teaching methods to meet students unique needs Monitor student achievement through ongoing assessment Participate in relevant ARD meetings, contributing to student advocacy and goal planning Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusive practices Maintain compliance with district and special education requirements Three openings are available, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact across all grade levels.
