Key Qualifications:

Hold an active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification Demonstrated experience with students who are blind or visually impairedpreferably in K-12 settings Proficiency in adapting and delivering curriculum for various levels of vision and learning needs Strong communication skills and the ability to consult with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Comfortable managing a caseload, developing IEPs, and implementing accommodations Passion for fostering independence and academic success among diverse learners

Role Responsibilities:

Provide direct, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in a classroom and consultative capacity Assess student needs and develop tailored learning strategies, accessible materials, and assistive technology solutions Collaborate with classroom teachers, orientation & mobility specialists, and support staff to ensure the integration of specialized strategies Monitor progress and participate in IEP meetings, updating goals as necessary Offer ongoing support and advocacy for students and their families Youll be working full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on-site for the duration of the contract.
