Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. In this contract role, you'll collaborate closely with an EC Teacher's Assistant in a resource setting, supporting students within general education classrooms. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of 16-20 students, helping them grow, develop, and reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Demonstrated experience supporting K-2 students with exceptional needs Knowledge of instructional strategies for inclusive classroom environments Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially when partnering with teaching assistants and general education staff Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Commitment to fostering a supportive, engaging, and positive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction within general education settings Work alongside an EC Teacher's Assistant to support daily classroom activities and student needs Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse developmental and academic requirements Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with families and colleagues Ensure adherence to IEPs and best practices in Special Education Create an environment that values respect, inclusion, and student growth
