Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful career as an ELA Inclusion Teacher supporting students with exceptionalities in a dynamic school environment near Halifax, NC. This contract position offers you an opportunity to make a lasting impact while collaborating with a dedicated team at the Northwest Collegiate Academy. With a consistent weekday schedule and extended duration, you'll foster student growth and contribute your expertise to the Exceptional Children program.
Key Qualifications:
Holds current NC state EC (Exceptional Children) teaching credentials Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with inclusion settings Knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum for middle or high school Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, students, and families Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and manage caseload demands
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide ELA instruction and academic support in inclusive classroom settings Modify and implement lessons to accommodate individualized education programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers to meet the needs of all students Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with varying abilities Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support personnel
Position Details & Perks:
