Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting near Hope Mills, NC. This full-time contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering you a chance to collaborate across elementary, middle, and high school levels. You will be part of a dedicated team, fostering student development through tailored strategies and engaging lessons.
Qualifications & Preferred Background:
Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) Experience working with K-12 students Knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology Proficiency in conducting student assessments, both formal and informal Comfort navigating ARD meetings and documentation required by the district Strong communication skills and a collaborative work ethic
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver effective instruction and adapt teaching methods in accordance with district guidelines Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments Engage in continuous assessment of student progress and adjust approaches as needed Prepare materials and reports for and participate actively in ARD meetings Work alongside general and special education staff to ensure holistic student support Manage a caseload spanning elementary, middle, and high-school-aged learners This is an excellent opportunity for passionate educators committed to accessibility and advocacy.
