Qualifications:

Valid North Carolina Special Education teaching certification (NC SPED cert required) Experience as an Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher or Special Education Teacher in school settings Strong knowledge of IEP development, classroom accommodations, and differentiated instruction Effective communication skills to engage with students, families, and staff Commitment to inclusive education and fostering supportive learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and revise Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines Provide direct instruction, small group, and individualized support based on students' unique needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications Assess student progress regularly, documenting growth and adjusting instructional approaches as needed Foster positive relationships with families and communicate student achievements and challenges Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices and special education policy updates This position offers the chance to work in a supportive community, make a meaningful impact, and expand your professional experience in special education.
