9674639-28651 Job Description Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in an engaging inclusion/resource setting at both middle and high school levels. This position begins as soon as possible and extends through June 4th, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour workweek. Required Qualifications and Experience:
Current North Carolina Teaching License, with certification for Middle/High School Special Education. Experience or strong interest in working in inclusive/resource classroom environments. Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse team of educators, families, and support staff. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to fostering academic growth and positive behavioral supports for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small-group instruction across curriculum areas to students with diverse learning needs in both middle and high school settings. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring goals align with student strengths and needs. Collaborate with general education teachers to provide resources, strategies, and accommodations within the inclusion model. Track student progress through regular assessments and documentation. Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that encourages all students to reach their full potential. Engage and communicate regularly with families and caregivers.
