Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and support to students in a welcoming school environment near Morganton, NC. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work across both elementary and middle school settings, helping guide students in structured and collaborative classrooms for the 2026-27 and 2027 academic years.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or a related field Valid Special Education Teacher certification for North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred Comfort with assisting students with toileting needs; experience with students requiring feeding tubes is a plus Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to adapt lesson plans to support diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to students with mild behavioral challenges or no behavioral concerns Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide support in elementary structured support and middle school co-teaching environments Collaborate with teaching assistants, a behavior technician, and other specialists to foster a supportive learning atmosphere Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet students unique needs Support students with toileting as needed; oversee care and safety for students with medical requirements, such as a feeding tube Monitor and document student progress, communicating effectively with parents and other team members This position runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly.
