This contract role offers the rewarding opportunity to contribute your expertise and compassion to a self-contained, non-severe caseload, as well as provide resource support for elementary students in grades K-5. The position runs full-time from now through early June 2027, allowing you to build meaningful connections and champion your students growth.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with middle or elementary school students in a special education setting Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional accommodations Ability to collaborate with other education professionals, families, and support staff Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills Effective classroom management abilities
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tailored instructional plans for students with diverse learning needs Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional progress Monitor student progress, adapt instruction as needed, and maintain detailed records Deliver instruction and interventions to both self-contained middle school classes and K-5 resource students Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress and challenges
